Unlike many other fruit trees, soursop is usually grown from seed. Take the seeds, soak them in warm water overnight and sow like a half-inch deep in a sterile starting mix. You will see it germinate in two weeks to a month as long as you keep the mixture moist.  Moving your tree outdoors to zones 10-13 should be done at least six months after planting.

Plant your soursop seedlings or the saplings in a location with full to partial sun and slightly acidic, well-drained soil, where it will be protected from strong winds. Place each of them about 20 feet from buildings or other plantings and cover it with plenty of compost to keep the soil moist, as it has shallow roots. In case your site is prone to flooding, choose a special variety because soursop does not tolerate standing water.
