Product description

Overview of Black Beauty Eggplant

Black in colour, the spongy and absorbent fruit is used in a variety of dishes. Although it is commonly used as a vegetable in cooking, it is a berry by botanical definition. The eggplant, a member of the genus Solanum, is related to the tomato, the chilli pepper, and the potato, although those come from the New World, while the eggplant comes from the Old World. You can eat the skin and seeds of the potato, just like the tomato, but it is typically eaten cooked.

Features/More to Love:

  • It is nutritionally low in macronutrient and micronutrient content
  • The capability of the fruit to absorb oils and flavours into its flesh through cooking
  • Raw eggplant contains water, carbohydrates, protein, and has negligible fat
  • It also provides you with low amounts of essential nutrients that you need

Benefits of Black Beauty Eggplant

Plants need to be supported with vertical string or canes as well as horizontal ties or loops to prevent them from sprawling. You don't need to take more than one stem since you can cut side shoots after the flowers have formed. Generally, plants with fewer than nine fruits per plant are considered successful, though, in long-term cultures, this number can exceed nine. Among the many health benefits of aubergines are their vitamins B1 and B6. Known as thiamine, vitamin B1 aids your body in converting food into energy and also keeps your nervous system healthy. Vitamin B1 cannot be manufactured by our bodies, so we have to get it from our diet.

How to sow and care for Black Beauty Eggplant

Seeds of eggplant, or aubergine, can be grown very quickly. The seeds should be sown in October, November, or December, or late in January or February. Germination occurs at a temperature of 20°C. Plant seeds 1/4 inch deep in small pots or cell packs. Place the seedlings on a refrigerator or heat mat in a warm location, cover them loosely with plastic or a seedling bag to retain moisture. Make sure the soil is moist. If there is condensation inside the dome or bag, this means the seedlings are moist. You should mist the seeds lightly to prevent them from falling. The seeds will sprout without additional heat, but the process will take longer. Seeds will germinate faster if they are heated.

It generally takes two weeks for aubergine seeds to germinate. As soon as your seeds have germinated, place your pot flat in a bright window or under lights. During the next eight to ten weeks, you need to keep your eggplant seeds moist. When the plants are 3-4 inches tall, plant them into 9-inch pots. Transplant outdoor plants to a sheltered spot in the sun. The pH levels should be between 6.5 and 6, and N, P, K, and magnesium indices should be between 3 and 3.5. In 80 days, the harvest will take place. You can grow some awesome-looking aubergines easily.
