You can pickle them or use them in salads. Their taste is cucumber-like with a hint of lemon. On the ornamental vines are tiny leaves and flowers. Although these cucumbers are small, they are loaded with nutrients. The nutrients, antioxidants, and fibre they contain make them healthy and low in calories. They reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke, and cancer due to the nutrients they provide.
How to Care And Sow Mini Mexican Cucumber Seeds
Approximately six seeds should be sown in each circle of Mexican cucumber seeds spaced ten inches apart. Plant them approximately two inches apart within each circle. Plant seeds at the recommended depth, which is normally about an inch. Mist the ground lightly with water. Seedlings should be thinned to ten inches apart after they grow to at least four inches tall. You can cut the rest of the seedlings to the ground and keep the strongest ones with garden scissors. Plant the seedlings in cages. For added support, some stakes should be placed on either side of each cage.
Mulch between cages to conserve water and prevent weed growth. Ensure the soil is moist to a depth of at least three inches between waterings, and water the vines once a week at a minimum. About six weeks after planting, the vines should be side-dressed. Compost should be placed in rings around the cages, and muck should be set aside. After the area has been watered, it should then be mulched to allow nutrients to enter the soil.
