Product description

An Overview of Cherries

The drupe, a subcategory of the fruit genus, is the type of fruit cherries. Drupes fruit, sometimes also called stone fruit, has an outer flesh and thin skin and is identified by many as having a stone in the middle. These cores (or rocks) are the sole seeds of the drupe.

More to love in Cherries:

  • They thrive in a location that gets full sunlight and has a fertile soil
  • Cherry trees can grow tall up to 10 meters
  • Cherry trees take several years to be matured enough
  • The trees do not need lots of water every day

Benefits of Cherries

Cherries are low in calories and packed with fibre, vitamins, minerals, nutrients, and other healthy ingredients. You'll get vitamins C, A, and K. Each long-stemmed fruit also provides potassium, magnesium, and calcium. They also provide antioxidants, such as beta-carotene and choline, an essential nutrient.

How to sow and care for Cherries Seeds

You can sow cherry seeds in a small container with potting soil. Plant two or three holes in each crate. Place them in a sunny location and water them to keep the soil moist but not wet. When the seedlings are about 2 inches tall,  the tallest ones remain. Store in a sunny place. If it gets colder at night, keep them indoors where there is a sunny window.

In this window, they will last until spring, when the danger of frost has passed, when you can plant them outside. Seedlings should then be several centimetres tall. Plant them 20 feet apart and secure the site by marking them with a pole or stick so they won't be trampled on. When fertilizing your cherry tree, use an organic seaweed fertilizer or other organic all-purpose food.
