Product description

Overview of Ivory Eggplant

You can enjoy moussaka, ratatouille, or the delicious dip, Baba Ganoush, the ideal Mediterranean crop with aubergines. People should grow them from seed more often since they are not much different from tomatoes.

When living in a mild climate or a hot summer, aubergines will crop well in a greenhouse or even in a large pot on a sheltered patio. You need sunshine and warmth to grow plants successfully - if you can't guarantee such conditions outside, grow them under glass. Older varieties could indeed be temperamental, but the newer, compact varieties bear fruit more quickly and produce a wide range of colours from almost black to purple to cream and lilac. Aubergines grew at home often lack the bitterness associated with shop-bought varieties.

What You'll Love

  •  Cooked and peeled, this vegetable is highly digestible
  • Aubergines that are larger and riper are typically more fibrous and bitter.
  • Harvesting the vegetable when it is unripe will prevent bitterness, the growth of seeds, and the hardness of the skin.

Ivory Eggplant Benefits of Use

The health benefits of aubergines are numerous. In addition to fibre, they are rich in antioxidants. Aubergines are a good source of fibre, manganese, copper, B-6, and thiamine, all found in 5% of the daily recommended amount. Aubergines are also rich in minerals and vitamins. The antioxidant compound phenolics are also present in eggplants. Many free radicals can damage cells, but antioxidants help the body eliminate them. Antioxidants may be beneficial in preventing diseases. Zeaxanthin, lutein, and nasunin are some of the anthocyanins that occur in eggplants. It is, therefore, a healthy plant for your garden.

How to Care & Sow Ivory Eggplant

White eggplant, also known as ivory eggplant, can be grown from seed or starter plants. For growing healthy eggplants, Garden Paradise Seeds sells the best seeds. Seeds should be planted in flats six to eight weeks before they are transplanted outside. Transplant eggplant seeds no deeper than 4 inches. The ideal temperature for seed germination is between 75 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit.

A seed heating pad can be used to regulate soil temperatures. Germination of eggplant seeds takes between seven and fourteen days. The soil needs to be damp but not soggy for seeds and seedlings to survive. Moving the plants into the garden bed should be done 18 to 24 inches apart to make it easier for them to grow.

To grow healthy aubergines, they need full sun, six hours of daylight per day, and consistent moisture. Maintain moist soil with deep, slow waterings weekly or often during dry weather. Water the soil more if it feels dry during hot weather.

Eggplants require roughly one inch of water per week. You won't need to fertilize eggplants if you amend the soil before planting. Remove weed seedlings as they emerge with a hoe or shallow weeder. So as not to damage them because their roots are shallow. When the eggplants are between two and six inches long, they are ready for harvest.
