An Overview of Red Aster Flower

Aster, which is a unique daisy-like wildflower is known for its star-shaped flower heads. According to its meaning, it symbolises wisdom and love. With a rich history in Greek mythology, aster is said to have been created by the tears of the Greek goddess, Astraea.

What You'll Love

  • The colours of asters range  from blue, purple, pink to white, and the yellow
  • The yellow plant has many clusters of yellow flowers
  • These two clusters of wildflowers brighten and enliven the late-season landscape
  • Aster attracts many pollinators late in the season

Benefits of Aster Red Flower

It is easy to grow Asters indoors in containers. They grow up and bloom better in the full sun. Shaded varieties, however, create fewer flowers. You should have liquid soil with good drainage. Clay land with wet roots will cause root rot and sandy soil with dry roots will lead to a tree. Spacing the plants 1 to 4 feet apart depending on their variety. Aster flowers can be planted at any time during the growing season. Planting in spring or fall will allow the plant to grow on its own before the weather gets too hot or too cold. If you live in the Northern region, plant any time from late spring to early fall. Roots will have a chance to grow before winter begins.

How to Care And Sow Aster Red Flower Seeds

Depending on the type and variety, they can grow 1 to 6 feet tall and 1 to 4 feet wide. The aster plant has hairs or smooth leaves and the flowers are daisy-like, erect and bushy. Tall varieties of asters should be staked or caged in mid-summer to prevent them from falling off in the fall. Make sure they are well hydrated. If they dry out in the summer, water them. Fall blooms of drought-tolerant plants may be less dramatic. Aster usually does not require much additional fertility if grown in fertile soil. Apply organic fertilizer every spring.

It is possible to eat both flowers and leaves from aster plants. Applied topically, aster root relieves headaches among Ojibwa. Additionally, it is used to treat venereal diseases. The white colour of the Aster root represents innocence. The red colour of the asparagus symbolizes devotion. The pink colour of the asparagus symbolizes sensitivity and love. At the end of the season, the yellows and asters attract a  variety of pollinators. During the winter, birds and small animals depend on seeds and dry stems for food and shelter.
