Benefits of Courgette
You might not immediately think of pumpkins, squashes, and courgettes as superfoods, but they are! In addition to being nutrient-dense, nutrient-dense foods are low in fat and sugar. A source of potassium is courgettes. In order to move around, we need potassium in our bodies. As well as containing vitamins C and folic acid, courgettes are a good source of fibre.
How to Care And Sow Courgette Seeds
You can plant your courgette seeds in seven cm pots after they are sown in fine seed compost. The seeds should be buried about one centimetre deep. You can water them and put them in a propagator or on a warm, south-facing windowsill, depending on how quickly you want them to grow. You can also grow courgettes in unheated greenhouses or polytunnels, but you must cover them with fleece at night to prevent frost damage.
Keep the compost moist but not overwatered while the seed is germinated. Use 12cm pots filled with good quality multipurpose compost. In the large pot, make a hole about the size of the smaller 7cm pot in the compost. Insert the seedling into the hole. Cover the roots tightly with compost. The plant should be watered well and kept indoors for a week or two. Make sure it is covered at night with a fleece.
